Vulnerability

It is a good and refreshing experience to become vulnerable to someone you care about...even if only for a night.  It teaches you to trust unconditionally.  If you're like me, and habitually choose NOT to expose your true self and your true feelings very often, this can be a very humbling experience.  You put yourself, your heart, in someone else's hands for a moment, and pray that they don't drop it.  You shut your eyes tightly, take a deep breath, and hand it over. Then, they take your heart in their hands, and instead of dropping it, they cradle it with the tenderness you were hoping for.  This is true vulnerability.  Could have easily gone the other way.  My heart could have been nothing more than a bloody mess on the bottom of his shoe...but instead, it is safely back in my chest, beating strong...with a little more trust in people than I had yesterday.  And that's worth the risk.

The best words I heard someone else say today:  "I am happy."

Wow. There is the honesty ... the vulnerability you tried so hard to hide from me upon first conversation. You write beautifully and I look forward to catching up on your site as you did mine. See you this weekend.

OK lol I had ALOT of catching up to do, I am so ashamed of myself... honestly... OK so here we go. 1. As far as men being Jerks, well thats something that will never change, and especially guys who think they can call you all late and meet up! AS IF!! 2. I loved reading your lines about the sweet guys, even thought some have broke your heart you will always have those memories, grrr even my jerk of an ex surprized me a time or two. 3. this leads up to todays blog, vunerabilty is such a good thing, there si nothing wrong with being vunerable towards someone, its when you become clingy that it can become bad, but you definitly arent that. You are right I think we think alike in so many ways!! Hope you have a good day today~Jennifer

Trust is a funny thing...too many times when we aren't happy with a level of trust we just cast it off. Trust takes time.
